A year ago we went to SoCal Pianos to see if there were any improvements available for our antiquated Disklavier Player Piano. We met their salesman Al Jacobs who turned out to be an impressive piano player, but better yet, an exceptional person as well as a great salesman. We looked at new pianos but ultimately settled on a totally new retro-fit, computerized player, that could be installed in our existing Yamaha. Al orchestrated the pickup to LA, the install, the return of our “new” piano to our home and software instruction. Meanwhile California Audio Video installed surround sound speakers in our ceiling. We control the player piano with an I-Pad; if you select a piano only song from the vast selection available it plays alone or if you select an artist to sing along that audio portion is sent by wi-fi to the speakers and is synced to the piano audio coming from the piano. The 1st time I heard Johnny Mathis sing “It’s Not For Me To Say” accompanied by our piano and his voice and music it knocked my socks off! Play the piano yourself, or have it play alone, or have it accompany a vocal artist; it’s all magical. Thanks to Al Jacobs & SoCal Pianos!
